SENIOR POEM CLASS OF ’41 Oh, we’re the class of forty-one, And many honors we have won. We have studied four long years, And now we have no more fears— Unless for some unknown reason, We are detained for another season. Here are the members of our class, Some are slow, but most are fast. We are studious as a rule, And seldom do we fool— Except when teacher’s away, Then we have fun all the day. Don Bunge’s the president of our class, With George Martin helping at the mast. Marna Houser’s the secretary fair, And of the money D. B. Thorne takes care. Why Deetz was chosen to write the history, Seems to us to be a mystery. There’s Campbell and Jones, two fine pals, And Helen and June, two fine gals. Farrington from Smith we wouldn’t dare part. For fear of breaking someone’s heart. Hire and Silberg are two B. B. boys, Who, when they score, bring us joys. Casselman is a quiet little lass, And Fretz is of the opposite class. Roop and Wheeler, each a farmer lad, And to the group we must add— Metcalf, Gafken, and Husselman, And Duesler, Steckley, and Bowman. Roush and Wing, who love to design, Those pretty pictures which are so fine. Howard and Frick, two pretty girls, Who are as busy as two little squirrels. Last, but not least, are Gushwa and Jerry, Who make this class so happy and merry. —Vernon Kohl ’41 Page twenty-two
