CLASS WILL We, the class of 1941, being of unsound and failing health and about to pass out of this sphere of education, in full possession of a crammed mind, well-trained memory, and almost superhuman understanding, and knowing that sooner or later all classes must graduate and putting full faith and implicit trust in the promises of the faculty that we will be a graduated class some time this May but still fully realizing and consid¬ ering the uncertainties of the frail and transitory life of a senior, do make, publish and declare this instrument as and for our last will and testimony hereby revoking all former or other testamentary dispositions and mak¬ ing void all former wills or promises by us at any time here before May or mayhap carelessly spoken one to another as the thoughtless wish of an idle hour. ITEM 1 We give and bequeath to superintendent, Mr. Overmeyer, our sincere affection, deepest reverence, hardiest gratitude and the whole unlimited wealth of our eternal memory. ITEM 2 We give and bequeath to the faculty a sweet and unbroken succession of restful nights, also all the amazing knowledge and startling informa¬ tion that we have imparted to them in our examination papers. ITEM 3 We give and bequeath to the junior class our well known ability. ITEM 4 To the Sophomores we give and bequeath and to their heirs and as¬ signs forever, all our stupidity and ignorance. ITEM 5 To the Freshman class that is to be, we bequeath any over-looked cuds of gum. To the class of 1945 we bequeath our sympathy. While we are still here we feel for them even if we do not reach them. With hearts full of charity and trying to overlook their many faults, we leave to them our vacant chairs and seats, we intrust to them our empty lockers, and generously reserve for them our places at the drinking fountains. ITEM 6 Individually we bequeath the following: I, Paul Bowman, will my brisk walk to anyone who can keep up with it, I, Don Bunge, will my “chawmin” smile and women killing ways to Wayne Kester, I, Pearl Casselman, will by level head and good common sense to Emo- gean Goodwin, I, Walter Campbell, will my tall, awkward appearance to Paul McConnell, I, George Deetz, will my ability to pretend to have forgotten something I really never knew to LeRoy Hefty, I, Donald Duesler, want Dan Gratz to take up my funny laugh, I, Joan Farrington, will my bright ideas to Velma Freed, Page nineteen
