We've known each other Since we were nine or ten. Together we climbed hills and treesg Learned of love and ABC'sg Skinned our hearts And skinned our knees We had joy. We had fun. We had seasons in the sun, But the song and the rhyme Were just seasons out of time . . . Taken from Seasons in the Sun By Rod McKuen Always Smiling. Small children are sometimes scared and reluctant to begin school. The lirst day of school always seems to arrive too soon. As the bus comes around the corner, you have the urge to run into the house and call the whole thing off. The bus stops in front of you and the crowd of friends who have gathered to see you off. The doors open and you see . . . a smiling face. A friendly man welcomes you aboard his bus, asks your name and tells you his. You can relax now because you have a friend. You begin to think that school isn't going to be as bad as you thought. BECAUSE OF YOUR FRIENDLY SMILE THAT GAVE SO MANY YOUNG CHILDREN THE SECURITY THEY NEEDED, AND BECAUSE OF YOUR DEVOTION TO YOUR JOB, WE, THE CLASS OF '72, DEDICATE THIS, OUR YEARBOOK, TO YOU. LE PANTFRE Rosia After many weeks of preparation and hard work, the Class of '72 pre- sented its Junior Prom, Le Pantere Rose. When the evening of May 15, 1971, finally arrived, the school gym was seen by all as a festival of pink and white colors, which accented the typically French cafe sur- roundings. The prom's musical background was provided by the Mark VI. The final highlight of the evening came when Mr. Whitman, the M.C., announced the court. COURT King . . . . Queen . . Prince ....... The seniors were beaten 29-0 as the Faculty completely outcheated the seniors. For instance on the first play of the game the seniors scored a touchdown but the Faculty said they weren't ready. It was just that kind of game. The Facultyis motto was: If you cheat you can't get beat. No Harry, you're not calling any plays. Next time we're going to have referees. Iron man Dan in pain. AFTER COLLEGE? Since 1874, time of the above engraving, more oung men in Waterloo probably graduated to Goulds 'ian graduated from high school. Fortunately, for both education and Goulds, things have changed. Both ave grown enormously. Today the opportunities for lducation, both high school and college, are greater wan ever before. The demands on the students, how- lver, are growing more intense. There is more com- etition. Same with pump companies. Some keep rowing, others are drop-outs. Back in 1874, for ex- mple, there were four other pump companies in Sene- a Falls. They're all long gone. We have some com- etitors, today, who are on shaky ground. They haven't one their homework, i.e., no new products, new ap- proaches to markets, etc, Success in schooling, suc- cess in pump manufacturing, both are the product of determined, skilled, enlightened people. We have them at Goulds Pumps, Inc., and we're proud that a great number of our key people are Waterloo Central graduates. Many are those who have gone on to col- lege and then returned to Waterloo and to Goulds. These illustrations show the change in Goulds plant facilities in the past 90 years. But Goulds is moving faster than that. In the past 10 years sales have more than doubled. To keep growing we need more good people to grow with. Consider Goulds as a good place to work after high school or college. established in 1848 GOULD'S PUMPS, INC. si 'S N W Q 5 3 2 'Q 5 E Q Q ii ii Q 5 S si 1 Q -Q Z5 gf ii E sf Kingdom Plaza Waterloo, New York roNY oipnonio 7 PLUMBING AND - oEo. s. noBiNETTE GW Ol' H N G Watches, Diamonds, Jewelry Seneca Falls, N Y k 57 Seneca Street Waterloo, New York Ph 539 3806 Congratulations To the Class of 1972 From The Becker-lVloLean Company Wat9l'lOO New York COMPLIMENTS OF Kal Q NIECA FALLS : TRAVEL BUREAU , SE'NiE'XT5AiI'ZfER.
