FOCUS ON SPORT FOOTBALL: After a tough season, Waterloo finished with a 2-6 won lost record. Although displaying great spirit and desire, they lost several close games. All conference honors went to defensive guard, iunior Bernie Doran. The future looks good as many other key positions were ca pa bly filled by juniors. All their wins were convincing and their losses close as the team showed great potential. CROSS COUNTRY: ln his first year as coach, Mr. Morse guided the young harriers to a surprising third place in league action. Sparked by Bill Kenny, a freshman, and Terry Schoenacker, a sophomore, who placed fifth and eighth in the league meet, Waterloo finished with a 7-5 record. Highlights came as the team scored double vic- tories over Geneva and Mynderse, and triple victories over Clifton Springs. The future looks good as six of the ten runners were in their first year. BASKETBALL: Although the team sported an unimpressive 6-12 record, they had an exciting season. Many close games were lost when the last minute rallies fell two or three points short. They finished second in the Holi- day Christmas Tournament and placed two men on the all-star team, senior Bob DeLamarter and iunior Jim Contant. The future looks promising as many lettermen are returning. WRESTLING: This year's wrestling team finished the season with a 9-3 record and third place in Wayne Finger Lakes action. Top wrestlers in- cluded Fred Pearce, who went un- defeated in dual meet action for a perfect 10-O record, Charlie Kleman, 9-1, and Tom Pearce, 8-1. Fred also won the W-FL conference title and placed second in the section 5 tour- ney. Bill Elliotto placed third in the conference and Paul Perrotto and Tom Pearce placed fourth in their respective weight classes. The most impressive victory of the season was the last, against previously uncle- feated Phelps.
