CLASS HISTORY As frivolous freshmen, we, the Class of 1964, entered Waterloo High School with great expectations for the coming year. We chose as our advisors Mrs. Remmel, Mr. Meadway, and Mr. Dew. We elected the following class officers: Jack Kidd, president, Sally Bertino, vice-president, and Ruth Rosenthal, secretary-treasurer. The class project, a stationery sale, netted a profit of 5660. Chuck High was the top salesman. Pat Pioli, Nancy Baker, and Natalie llacqua were the Student Council representatives. Our fresh- man year happily ended with the class dance, Pastel Paradise. Our sophomore year began with the excitement of entering our newly built high school. The election of class officers revealed Jack Kidd as president, Chuck Major as vice-president, and Ann Schoenleber as secretary-treasurer. Our class projects that year consisted of selling refreshments at basketball games and selling Tastee Freez tickets. The Student Council representatives were Nancy Caswell, Sue Herrick, and Chuck Major. Ed Saunders won the United Nations contest and was sent to New York City for a week. Linda Magenheimer was selected as the exchange student, traveling to Colom- bia for the summer months. Our sophomore year ended on a very successful note, the class dance, Palisades Park. The summer quickly passed, and we found ourselves beginning our junior year. We elected an all girl government consisting of Natalie llacqua, president, Barbara Brown, vice-president, Monica Dadson, secretary, and Nancy Baker, treasurer. Our class project was the magazine sale, netting a profit of Sl,O2l. Larry Bowen was the top salesman. Dan Snyder was selected as the exchange student traveling to Ecuador for the summer months. Chuck Major was elected to the vice-presidency of the Student Council. Ruth Rosenthal, Natalie llacqua, Sue Herrick, and Jack Kidd were chosen as our class representatives. Steve Douglass, Jack Kidd, and Chuck High were chosen to go to Boys State. Ann Schoenleber represented our class at Girls State. May soon rolled a- round, and we found ourselves in the midst of Junior Prom preparations. Nancy Baker was chosen chairman. Everyone seemed to enjoy the Prom, Enchanted lsland, includ- ing the court: Sally Bertino, Queen, Tom Coughlin, King, Sherry Johnson, Princess, and Joe Catanise, Prince. The attendants were Natalie llacqua, Jack Kidd, Ruth Rosenthal, Chuck Major, Pat Pioli, Gary Westfall, Sue Bingman, Pete Marino, Bette Wantuck, and Herbie Meyer. Sooner than we had expected, we found ourselves in our final year at Waterloo. The following class officers were elected: Jack Kidd, president, Joe Catanise, vice-presi- dent, Ruth Rosenthal, secretary, and John Somerville, treasurer. The yearbook staff was chosen, and Nancy Baker and Sharon Dishaw became editor and co-editor. The class project was the Christmas card sale which was a great success. Chuck Major became president of the Student Council, with Monica Dadson, Ann Schoenleber, Joe Catanise, and Jack Kidd, the class representatives. February brought the Senior Ball, Stardust. Joe Catanise was chosen as its chairman. Natalie llacqua, Queen, Jack Kidd, King, Nancy Baker, Princess, and Gary Westfall, Prince were chosen by the class to head the court. The attendants were Sherry Johnson, Ken Sitterly, Sue Bingman, Joe Catanise, Jill Bordner, Bob Kime, Monica Dadson, Joe Capone, Ruth Rosenthal, and Herbie Meyer. The class play was titled The Skin of Our Teeth. Special recognition went to the following Regents Scholarship winners: Nancy Caswell, Dave Bollech, Sharon Dishaw, Cheryl Crawford, Kathy Jenks, Ann Schoenleber, Linda Magenheimer, Steve Douglass, and Roger Dilmore. We, the Class of l964, suddenly realized that our days at Waterloo Senior High School were quickly drawing to a close, but we knew that the memories of our alma mater would always remain a cherished reminder of our youth.
