Q. W if X's and Y's Attract Future Engineers Preparing students for the future, mathematics also offers a challenge to the mind. Students develop clear think- ing and logical reasoning while learning to apply the mathematical principles. Algebra I and II, plane and solid geometry, and trigonometry all work with the mysterious X's, Y's, and other unknown quantities while giving students a foundation for college and more ad- vanced courses. Business and general math may also be taken in order to fulfill the require- ment of one year of math for graduation. -N-B. W

Waterford's home economic classes offer a good opportunity to be- come efficient in the art of making a house a home. The course includes designing and sew- ing clothes, buying and budgeting, plan- ning and cooking meals, grooming, and childcare. K 1 ' . l Sewing includes making novelty items as well as clothes.
