N 4 gil fly-JV k ill if f' lf? 1 vw i J J W I WATERLOG DEDICATION Over a period of four years, a student comes in contact with a force that, to him is unconquerable. .High school, when thought of in a realistic sense, is his leveling-off period. It's the scotch tape of the future, adding strength to his weak spots. An individual is taught to think, to work, and to relax. This all is important if one is to meet an ever-changing adult world. This same individual makes up the main staff of life of a high school. A school is what you make it, isn't a new thought. In a sense, it is under-used. You can point to a school sweater and say That's from Clarkston or Those are Waterford's colors. But you can never point to an individual and say that. You have no way of knowing until you meet the finished product. Who, among us, receives more complaints, pleas, threats, gray hairs and worries than anyone else? Who defends the Fort against present day villains? D. C. Qbehind his back, and that man, Weaver. You'll find him in the halls, at school social affairs, class meetings, any place he's needed. In this school we've really come to know our principal as a person. A part of this background will always be with us. Our scotch tape is our principal: the glue, our teachers. It is with--pride and honor that the Waterlog staff dedicates this book to the foreman, Donald C. Weaver. June 1952 5
