Seniors Sailing Along 'Lovely to look at, delightful to know might well be what these couples were thinking while dancing to the dreamy music of Jim Serv1ce's band at the Senior Prom Dancing from left to right are Jean Lawson, Bud Millmine Dorothy Austin, Maurice Runyan, Chuck Weller, Sue Brace, Della Radenbaugh Bill Tomlinson Betty Vaughn, Bob Studt Jeannine Moran, Leo Larkin, and Yvonne Stodgel and .Tack Nelson Indianwood Country Club provided the setting for this memorable event The curtain went up at 9 o clock, to display the fascinating array of decorations and gay excited guests Then at 1 0 clock after a full evening of dancing and fun, the curtain gracefully descended to end a most perfect evening that will live long in every senior'-s memory Step right up and get your tickets was a familiar phrase heard as you approached the Senior County Fair This event was held on March 18, at W T H S The highlight of the affair was the coronatlon of the king and queen Voting took place inthe hall for one week preceding the fair Watching the Jars fill up and the chart being marked proved to be very exciting However, the final count proved the victors to be sophomore Virginia Hartman as queen and senior Bob Studt as king Presenting the awards in the above picture is last year s queen Toan Kray Other activities at the fair included fortune telling Cake walk fish pond picture booth fudge sale house of horrors, and dart games .,, 4 Y i g XA N1 - tex I , x ' sf as ge , . . . . . . YQAI' H S Wi z if W fairs 1 fbi 49 Leadlng the Junxors of 1950 were presldent Dean Parmenter, v1ce pres1dent Sam Savas, secretary Jean Joss, and treasurer, D1ck Radtke The Hayseed Hop was the fxrst act1v1ty of the year and was a farmer style dance held m the school aud1tor1um, December 2. Mr. G1dley's band provlded square dance and popular mus1c for the students to hop among the corn stalks that were 1n the room for decoratlons. Snow and cold weather d1dn't stop the Jumors from collectlng old newspapers and magazmes on January 7 and f.h1S prof1ted them S50.46. ' The b1g event of the year was the annual product1on of aShowboat 1n then' own fashlon. Th1S was presented January 13 and 14. Attendance records were broken for th1s show wh1ch y1elded 3215.90 prof1t. 'fSweetheart Sw1ng , the Valentme dance, IH the h1gh school February 10, was another proJect of the year. There were hearts, balloons, and streamers decoratmg the aud1tor1um. Don Kratt and hxs band beat out the popular mus1c to swmg to The .Tumor Semor Banquet was the b1g treat of the year.
