Beth Capahe becomes very intent on making an unusual painting for her painting class. Marie Guirnares, the exchange student from Brazil is pro- gressing at a very rapid speed, in ceramics. Tina Powers and Cathy Schmidt are trying to solder a ring in jewelry making. Our Art Department this year provided the stu- dents with a variety of courses. It gave them the op- portunity to use their own creativity, to express themselves artistically and to devote a great deal of time to their projects. The students hooked rugs, painted, designed and made jewelry, and molded pottery. The teachers in the Art Department help and encourage young people with an interest in art no matter what their potential may be. The instructors are, Mr. Robert Seehurger for Design and Color, Painting, and Drawing. Mrs. Genie Lanthorne for Crafts, and jewelry. Mrs. Margaret Parmenter for jewelry and Ceramics. While Terry Edwards and Bruce Hunt finish their ceramic pro- ject, Karen Dubre puts her's away for the day.
