Although the math department of- fers no new classes this year, many of the teachers are teaching the same classes in varied ways. Several teachers have adopted the individua- lized system where students work at their own pace. There have been mixed reactions to this format. The math department, headed by Mr. James Capistrant, has a new grading machine this year which can grade tests a lot quicker than the teacher can. This gives the teachers more time to plan their classes. The grading machine is not only used by the math department but other depart- ments also benefit from it. One new teacher has been added to the math staff this year. Mr. Dick Rine, originally an Ohio resident has moved north to join the math depart- ment at Kettering.

To further and improve skills in accounting and bookkeeping the Business Department offered an advanced bookkeeping course this past year. Due to a decrease in enroll- ment in business courses, busi- ness teacher, Mrs. Penny Ald- rich was transferred to Mason junior High. The Business Department does not consider itself a female oriented department since fel- lows are encouraged to enroll in business courses. Cheryl Fliescher answers the phone in Office Training Class. Business helps build the future Susan Teachworth runs copies on the duplicating machine.
