Stand up and voice our opinions Speech classes, required of all sopho- mores, help students develop the poise, confidence and ability to speak in front of large or small groups. Other classes offer- ed to Kettering students include Debate, Play Production and Reasoning. This year's Debate class has two debate teams, a varsity and a junior Varsity team. Their season this year was very successful. s Play Production 3' year long Course pre- Angela Pantelides and Steve Ram work together in a Play Production sented several plays. Students also learned class. one of the many assignments is ss prepare s play and issm the techniques of make -up. the Parts- Ann Crowley demonstrates the poise and assurance that have resulted from 3 Roger Skrobecl-c and Garian Weston compare and discuss notes and plans for use in an Semester of 52999011 Class- upcoming debate to held with other members of their Debate class.

The ol d notion that a li- brary is a room or building housing dusty books and a grey haired sp in st e r who frowns at the slightest whis- per is a thing of the past at Kette ring. As a matter of fact, so is the name Li- brary. The Kettering Li- brary is now known as the Kett e ring Media Center. Directed by Mrs. I oy c e Condon and Mr. Dave Briston, the Media Center is a bus- tling whirlwind of a c t iv ity. This large room overflows with books, tap e s,- records and other audio -visual equip - m e nt, all avaliable for stu- dent use. Open to students from 7:30 a. m. to 3:00 p. m. , there is s eldo m a moment when the room is empty or quiet. Ve ry fre quently tea chers like Mr. Kaminskis bring their classes to work in the Media Cen- ter. joanne Brown and Howard Andress, members of Mr. Kaminskis' Research Seminar class pause from re se arching their papers. Dust and silence replaced b aotivit Terry Edwards spends a few minutes browsing through one of the many magazines available to students in the Kettering Media Center.

As Bogart would say, Play it again, Sam, but in this case it's being played again by disc jockey Dale Widger. A I isa!! juss. 5.1! Z The little station with the big voice Although it may not rock all the time, Ket- tering's Radio Station, WTSD, plays music for a greater Variety of people than students realize. Since its founding in the l960's, WTSD has steadily grown in size and popularity under the watchful guidance of Station Director Mirhan Kupelian. Mr. Kupelian is assisted by Mr. Greg Lestan. Students from other schools in the district also come to Kettering for radio classes and exposure to the radio world. Kathy Grogan and Dale Widger decide the records that should be played during the next show. ff-in
