Band is a natural The music program at WK varies tremendously, from classic to jazz. Jazz is what this page is concerned with. Sixteen young musicians were brought together to form the annual jazz Band. They traveled to different places to play for dances and to help raise money for new march- f ing uniforms. Selections by the jazz Band were one of the many highlights of the Spring Concert. E Tim Teagarden, Denise Tuson, Tom Duffield and Brad Tuson play saxophones. J- Q 2 ' f Q Cx 'gs I ax ' f :Pj ltr'-rn Ga Ferris lays the drums and Gary Muellar plays the guitar Maynard Myers plays the trombone While Dave Denoyer, Vicki Wilson and Dennis Franks play the trumpets. Penny McNeal joins them with the tambourine. They worked ry P ' hard to become jazz band players. Biggs, jeff Terry and Vicki Wilson. Pep band has spirit Whenever an excess amount of noise was being made at basketball games it usually was either Pep Club of Pep Band. This lit- tle band of about forty members tried to inspire some pep in the crowd. During time-outs and half times the band played such favorites as the McDonald's Song, Mm, Mm Good and Bleacher Boogie. Mr. Fet- ter and Miss Peters took turns directing and a stu- dent director, Scott Wel- lemeyer even got a chance. Pep Band performs during halftime of a basketball game.
