sic groups. Under the direction of Mrs. janet Hunt, the groups include Senior G i rl s' Chorus, junior Girls' Chorus, Girls' Chorus, Gleemen, M a d r i gal S i nge r s and Choir. All vocal music classesmeet once a day. During class time the members of the music group learn new music, practice old music and prepare for up c o m ing con- certs. However, not all of the preparation can be done during class time. Many hours a re spent after school and even on weekends practicing for coming concerts and competitions. Th e Instrumental M u sic Department is unde r the di- rection of Mr. Ge o rge Petter and Miss Judy Pete r s. There are two bands that make up this department, the Symphony Band and the Concert B a n d. March- ing Band is a combination of both bands. This year the bands held many fund raising projects. Mernbels of the Percussion section of the band include, Linda Newton, Kevin McGeachy, Glenn Polley, jim Siuniak, Pat Fitzgerald and C. C. Biggs. A A The Low Brass section of the band includes, ROW ONE, Dan Bartenbaker, jeff Laity. ROW TWO, Bill Tallenger, Mike Good. ROW THREE, Don Dlapham, Mike Conwell, Scott Wellemeyer. ROW FOUR, jon Roy and Dan Saylor. Pianist, Debby Babcock concentrates on a piano solo.

Several Instrumental Mu- sic students and a Vocal Music student t r a V e l e d to Lansing with students from Waterford Mott Waterford Township High Schools to receive a proclama- tion from G o v e rn o r William M i ll ik e n. The Kettering stu- dents were Sue Rondo, Anne usic . . . Vocal and instrumental echoes throughout Kettering Simmons and Scott Wellemeyer. The proclamation was for a nationwide project called Mu- sic in Our Schools Day. which was scheduled for March 13th. This p roj e ct was initiated to let the public know what their local musicians can do and what they have accomplished. The students who went to accept the proclamation from G o V e r n o r Milliken met many of their local representatives including Rep. Claude A. Trim, Rep. Charles Harrison and S e n at o r Kerry Kammer.
