A major objective of the English Curriculum is to teach stu- dents to think logically and to express their ideas clearly in a world where language is often used to manipulate men's minds and emotions. But there is an even broader objective, to preserve human values and the dignity of the individual in a mechanized society. To fulfill these objectives our teachers emphasize reading and composition so that the student may per- ceptively interpret the experiences of mankind through literature and express his thoughts and ideas with clarity and force.
