. . . AF£ BwJcfafc Mr. Baas, Mr. Koprowski, and Mr. Walgren took the opportunity to attend the AFS breakfast and meet the Deana Tweed' Cathy Coto' and Jenny Axelson enjoyed themselves, new students. In the 1987-88 school year, Waterford was lucky enough to receive three foreign ex- change students. They included Caterina Coto, from Costa Rica, who stayed with the Eugene Saltzmann family; Henrik Sjoberg from Swe- den, who stayed with Mr. Mrs. Carl Run- nels; and Charmaine Collins, from Australia, who stayed with the Marvin Saltzmann family. On Wednesday, September 2, faculty and stu- dents met in the library to attend the AFS breakfast. The purpose was to allow everyone to meet Cathy, Henrik, and Charmaine. Thanks to all who attended and helped make the event a success! Cathy with her American Family, ' Stephanie and Mrs. Saltzman. Henrik enjoyed the breakfast with his Mom Dad,' Mr. Mrs. Runnels. Scott and Jill Saltzmann were brother and sister to Charmaine.

. . . Spirit Week, . . . Spirit Week has always been a memorable occasion at Waterford High, and this year was no exception. Students and faculty were able to show their enthusiasm while keeping with the Fantasy Island theme. Besides the class spirit competition, the cheerleaders came up with a new spirit-rais- ing idea. They started the penny jar competi- tion in which students brought pennies and other coins to fill their class jar. The class with the most pennies (the Sophomores) won the competition. 6 Spout IVeeJi
