A sigh was heard as the cur- tains opened, bringing into view the orchestra silhou- etted against a view you might behold from any har- bor. n King Dave Rockrohr placed a flowered crown upon the head of his lovely Queen Anita Coverdale, and they moved gracefully down the staircase. The Court ofHonor, w ich consisted ofMarcia Dahl, Gayle Heck, Barbara Johncox, and Beverly Smetana follow- ed. The parade of beautifully dressed young men and women moved slowly toward the rear of the gym. Eerie illumination was provided by giant light- houses, their beams flowing upona magnificent tropi- cal island, the centerpiece of the dance floor. The parade ofdancers moved on to form a circle about the gym. At this time, little Marcia Cahill and Johnny Edwards distributed dance programs among the couples. The dreamy waltz tempo of Harbor Lights eckoned the couples onto the floor and they were encompassed by the enchantment of the moment. Thelunior Prom Harbor Li hrs held on May 8, 1952, was one of the most successgilhigh lights of the school year. Miss Fisher is the faculty sponsor for this annual event. In the next game, Waterford lost a heart breaker to East Troy by a score of 6-2, in a game that saw the Wolverine bobble many scoring opportunities. In the closing minutes of the game, Captain Dave Rockrohr tackled an East Troy back in the East Troy end zone for a safety to give the Wolverines their only score of the game. The next conference game was with the Aggies at Rochester. The loss of three regular backs hurt greatly in this 26-0 defeat. The Aggies found the Waterford pass defense very weak and connected frequently on long passes. After losing to Wilmot for the past seven years, Waterford finally came through and tied them in our home- coming game with a score of 13-13. Waterford was ahead '7-6 at the half. With five seniors playing their last game the fighting Wolverines showed themselves tobe Mukwonago s toughest conference foes of the season After a lon string of victories the Indians were favored by at least 20 mts Mukwonago drew first blood by scoring e first tune they had the ball The Wolverines bounced bac and scored on a lon pass play but Mnkwonaga again tallied with Waterford followi with a long 70 yard run by Modrak to make e score 14 13 with Mu onago m front Before the half ende Mukwonago talhed again and the score stood at 20 13 In this game Waterford scored more points against the Indians than all the rest of the conference teams together Thus the season ended with the Wolverines holding third place in the Southeastem Conference with a re cord of 2 wins 3 losses and 1 tie .-il .1 KMA Coach talks to the boys at half time! , ff ' ' - . . Yes, that's what happend when Waterford opened its 1952 baseball season as the first game had to be called at the end of the fifth inning because it was snowing and too cold to handle the ball. Although the team had a 1 win 6 loss record, things look brighter for the 1953 season.
