'7fne fangfnoan Class History THE BLUEBIRD OF HAPPINESS Last night, as I was wandering around in my' dreams, feeling rather blue, I approached a tent that was covered with stars. Looking in I saw a large crystal ball in the center of a table. I decided to go in and have a look at my future but much to my surprise the fortune teller said that it was out of order and would run only in reverse thus showing the past I thought rt might be fun and might also take my mind off graduatlon for a while When the fortune teller asked me yy hat I yy anted to see I thought for a moment before I replied Is rt too utterlv lrnposslble to go back to my school days? I want so much to haye something to remember my classmates by ' Oh no my dear she replied Now rust relax and look steadily into the crystal ball The crystal ball yy as all blue That blue began to take form and when rt finished shaping ltself I sayy that rt was a bluebrrd He told me that he was to take me back through my tyvelve years of school When I asked yy ho he yy as he said I am the Blueblrd of Happiness Now let s go back back back to the first grade when you and the rest of your classmates made a grand entrance into the two first grade home rooms Of course a few tears yy ere shed here and there but Miss Little field and Miss Olmstead were right there to comfort you Mary Jane Tal bert was soon hit by Cupid s arrow and had a grand crush on Danny Randall Mary Mildred Tierney received a brand new mrtten from Miss Littlefield This pleased Mary yery much until she was informed that she yy as to wear the mrtten rn all classes for the entire year and could no long er suck her thumb Even at this early date Lawrence Dufresne began to show promise as a ball player only rt was a snoyy ball and Mr Goodheart confined him to hrs seat Lawrence still claims that he was rust tossing rt up and down When these tyyo teachers were completely worn out you yentured into the second grade under the superyrslon of Mrs Clement and Mrs Mallow One day Joan lVIason yyho was missing one front tooth was trying to learn hoyy to yy hrstle rn class without the teacher knoyy1ng lt After several unsuccessful tries a loud shrlll whistle broke the silence of the room Joan sayy quite a bit of Mrs Clement for the next week' Throughout the year Ernest Robbins was conspicuous by his absence H spent ninety per cent of his time rn the cloakroom for yy hrsperrng H said that he didnt mlnd because he was all dressed to go home and there yy ere plenty of lunches to munch on When you entered the third grade under the dlrectlon of Mrs Pugh you yy ere a little more subdued You spent a happy but busy year hnding out that there might be a little yy ork rn school 'NI1ss Wheeler welcomed you as fourth graders Pat Quinn proy ed that you hadnt all been tamed doyyn by ringing the tire alarm and the class bell at the ime time Lnder the careful guidance of 'NI1ss Wheeler Pat soon became s tame as the rest of the class Xour frfth year you yyere under the leader ship of Nlrs Carl Nlrller Tlrrs yy as the ye rr Casanoya Don Nelson sneaked 1 note to 'Xlary Jane T11 bert a king. her it she loy ed him Nluch to Don s surprise Nlary ansyy ered Xe In your sixth ycar you yy crc dryrded into tyyo dryrsrons and cntru ted to N11 Rudd and Nlrss Jatkson Buddy Deal started the year off yyrtlr 1 a 1 x K s ' I I I r v ' - I .
