SENIOR CLASS HISTORY Once we were the feather-wearing freshmen until snackbreak, then the revolt against the sophomores and off with the feathers! We shouted the revolt song and paraded for our freedom with sandwich boards and posters--the iirst big spree of the class of '63. Later came Aloha with the eighth graders. We had Hawaii in the cafeteria with live palm trees and handsome hula dancers, dancing to the music of guitar and song. fand near tragedy with grass skirts on Tom and Tom.D We reveled in drama-melodrama at least. Sophomore year was the year of the Y party and the gala production: a play, dancers, J ada-J ada. There was the skating party at George's skating pond, tobogganing and trying to keep warm by drinking cocoa at the bonfire. The Filibuster Fling came with Smiling Charlie Clancy. Our only hidden secret was that the Republicans won in our election in a Democratic year . . . but the Carousel made up for that error in calculations. The cotton candy all over the school . . . in fact, the nicest the school ever smelled . . . the memory of the fat ladies selling popcorn balls . . . Junior year was all seriousness-we never did get our social event to the shore. We were out to try the new and daring. We held a couples' dance-money wasn't important, or so we thought later. The prom, Moonlight and Roses, was held at the ill-fated Washington House, and was a huge success. This year's prom was greater . . . Senior year: year of last-minute everything: college boards, seventh semester grades, waiting for accept- ance, trying to find a job, meanwhile trying to enjoy the freedoms of a graduate-to- be. We have contributed to the Foreign Exchange Program, spent money on the greenhouse, worked on dress codes for students and faculty. We have written for the Corner, starred on varsity teams, made the honor roll, argued with the student government.
