Why the LENAPE? We are the Warriors who read the ARROWHEAD, who live in Watchung, who pic- nic in the Reservation. We live in an area once in- habited by the Unami Indians, a branch of the Lenni- Lenape Tribe. The symbol of this tribe was the turtle which in Indian mythology was Atlas, who car- riedthe World on his shoulders. Indians are our heri- tage and so, the LENAPE was born. LENAPE means very original people, a reflection of what we hope to be . . . This is our starting place and the aim of our Warriors. Thus We have the 1963 LENAPE, a pictorial survey encompassing the life within our school. Here is the LENAPE, running the gamut from the seriousness of physics class to life after school in the lounge. This is 1963 recaptured. 0 633
