FOLEY Detachment THIRTY EIGHT, from Atlantic City, N. J., a child given to prowling the skies in the dark, on the prod lor bogeys nosing around near the Honeymoon couple. Led by LCDR WALLY STORM they flew their F2l-l-3 Banshees on Combat Air patrols, close air support strikes, photo escort missions and special weapons sorties. There were endless condition four and condition one standbys with the planes spotted on the catapults ready to go at a moments notice. l.T GEORGE WEBSTER was in charge of aircraft maintenance, a iob he passed on to LTJG BOB FOLEY when he had to return temporarily to the states shortly before Christmas. The job of maintenance was a tough one, but with a topnotch crew of men like AMI PATTERSON, AOl HUTCHINSON, ADl BAKER and ADl KARHAM working day and night when necessary, lOO per cent avail- ability was the rule rather than the exception.
