Senuor Class Hustory Sux happy youngsters started to school un September of l945 The sux were Barbara Johnston Bruce McDougal Lanny Carney Tommy Sutton JoAnne Nave and Sandra Austun Mrs Taylor led the energetuc sux through theur furst year of school The second year of readun rutun and ruthmetuc Muss Wagner was teacher of the same group that had spent theur furst grade together Mrs Day was unstructor of the group for both theur thurd and fourth years of school ln the fufth grade Mrs Lyons took the uob of teachung these students At the end of that year Lanny Carney and Bruce McDougal left The suxth grade wuth Mr Hunchluffe as teacher showed quute an uncrease un the suze of the class Maruan Depee moved up from the fourth grade to suxth to be wuth them Also uounung were Lunda Bauley Shurley Buhrmester and Barbara Brunton The seventh grade showed few changes un the class wuth Lunda Bauley the only one not returnung Mr Sartaun moved to tucna that year to be seventh and eughth grade teacher Graduat ung from the eughth grade were Maruan Depee Barbara Johnston Sandra Austun Shurley Buhrmester and JoAnne Nave Luttle dud the class of 57 realuze that when they started theur second plateau of educatuon that Mr Sartaun would move up to hugh school pruncupal but the world us full of surpruses and dud they get a surprusel Gerru Buckmaster and Lonnue Haynes uouned the class 2nd semester of theur frosh year Of course to be offucual hugh schoolers they had to be unutuated The characters they portrayed at unutuatuon were Denny Dumwut Maruan Depee Sanforuzed Barbara Johnston Muruel the Cugar JoAnne Nave and Puss n Boots Sandra Austun Even uf they dud feel a wee but sully they had a lot of fun Shortly after unutuatuon they gave the sophomores a return party Mr Feldhusen was class advusor that year Jum Wolf beung a brave soul entered tucna hugh and became the only boy un the sophomore class Gerru Buckmaster JoAnne Nave and Lonnue Hayes left the class that year The hugh lught of theur sophomore year was unutuatung the freshmen Muss Case was class advusor The uunuor year found the class of 57 short a few classmates There were only 3 members of the class Barbara Johnston Maruan Depee and Jum Wolf Muss Mulls was theur uunuor class advusor The bug event of that year for them was theur uunuor prom The theme of the prom was lts Almost Tomorrow held on Aprul l4 Due to the con structuon of the new school buuldung theur dance was held un the grange hall The stage was decorated wuth crepe paper the colors of a sunruse and un the center was a sun made of alumunum foul Off to the sude of the floor was a sude walk cafe There was a munumum of decoratuons but all un all ut was a real nuce prom Jum Wolf dudnt return for hus senuor year at tucna but another student Geneva Fechner transferred to Washtucna from Duetruch Idaho so the class remauned at three At the begunnung of the year they chose theur class colors flower and motto They are respectuvely blue and sulver whute rose and Struvung to Conquer the Unconquerable On May ll they had theur senuor ball whuch was the furst dance held un the new gymnasuum The theme for the dance was Graduatuon Day There was a lumtted amount of decoratuons because of the suze of the gym On May 26 l957 Baccalaureate was held wuth the Rev J Wulluam Woodworth guvung the address Commencement exercuses were held at 8 OO p m on May 29 T957 thus endung theur educatuon at Washtucna Publuc Schools Thus page sponso ed by Danekas and Duncan Funeral Home Rutzvulle Washungton Other sponsors for thus Annual Puerces Grocery LaCrosse Wash OK Rubber Weldung Rutzvulle Wash Kanzleres Unuon Servuce Rutzvulle Wash Kendruck Studto Rutzvulle Wash Unuon Oul Dealer Rutzvulle Wash LaCrosse Fountaun LaCrosse Wash t I .
