wddvqfddfdflq On an early September momlng in 1943 Duane Myers Patsy Sutherland Nancy Little and DeAnne Day started the 12 year grind in Washtucna. Public Schools These kids have gone through all twelve years of schooling together A week after school started Walt Frfreld from Spokane Joined us The teacher who taught us our ABC s was Mrs Guyla Taylor From the first grade through this year 1955 we have gained and lost 22 students If everyone who had come here had stayed our total graduating class would consist of 33 Our third grade year got off to a big bang as we gained Kay Lane from Oregon One day we came to school to find a new boy Herb Haase from Kahlotus The teacher who drug us through these two years was Mrs Day Then came the dayl We had been promoted into the fifth grade Of course being upstairs now we considered ourselves more grown up The teacher who greeted us was Mrs Theo Bachman The sixth year two more up and coming students Sally Thomas from Zillah and Bob Clinesmith from Benge Joined our class And then Mr Hart our seventh grade teacher grabbed us What funl Joe Graham a former Arkansawyer but recently from Oregon met us with a firm but laughing H1 you all Mr Hart passed us on to Mr Hartl who put our class through many paces and prepared us for high school Eighth grade graduation was a big thing then since it was separate from the high school ceremony In the fall of 51 we stepped into the high school door bashful but anxious to see what lay ahead Groom represented some of the characters portrayed by these green green frosh During our freshman year we started a Hay Ride Party which turned out very successfully and has been held in the spring every year since The sophomore year Jeanette Selcho came to us from Ritzville and before we knew tt we had become upper classmen When we were rumors part of our group were characters GJ rn the all high play Ahllvlenl Then came our Iumor Prom which was lots of work and lots of fun Al Reeves Orchestra furmshed the music while the couples danced among the street scenes of Paris the theme of the dance being April in Paris For the Iumor Semor Picnic we had to dig deep for the funds as our treasury was beginning to get low but it was well worth it Then came the fall of 54 we were falmightyj seniors It didn I seem we should be here now but we were We had all made xtl Picture Day in Spokane Semor Ball Semor Play and the Sneak Day all have memories we will cherish and look back to for the many good times had And finally last but not least graduation We had all worked hard for it or at least thought we had Now as we depart from our Alma Mater we want to tell all the classes that w1ll be coming into Tucna School to make their school years full of fun You ll never forget itl THIS PAGE SPONSORED BY RITZVILLE BRANCH OF THE OLD NATIONAL BANK OF SPOKANE RITZVILLE WASHINGTON 0 I 1 D Y I I , ' . . . ,. . ,. .
