zeehnea First rowg JoAnne Nave Sandra Austin Barbara Johnston Gerri Buckmaster Marian Depee Mr Feldhusen fNot shown- Lonnie Haynes Q ,Qs ai FRESHMAN INITIATION Freshman Inmation took place on October 2 1953 for the class of 57 Some of the funniest lookrng characters you ever saw walked into the doors of Washtucna High School Sandra Austin was Puss and Boots JoAnne Nave was Muriel Barbara Johnston was Sanforized and Marian Depee was Denny D1mw1t Muriel had a sign on her The sophomores marched them through the classrooms singing the green green Freshmen song There was naturally l1pSt1Ck smeared all over their faces In the morning the seniors 1n1t1ated them To start things off they all had to roll a charcoal covered candle across the floor with their noses Denny and Sanforized had to propose to one of the sophomore boys Then Muriel and Puss and Boots did some ballet Sanfonzed sang ISawMommy Krssmg Santa Claus a song that she didn t know Then everybody fed everyone else crackers and bananas That evening the sophomores had a little fun wrth them Puss and Boots had to do a dance Muriel had to go beg Mr Sartain for a cigar Sanforized was told to take off her dress and wash it Denny had to say the Gettysburg Address with four pieces of bubble gum rn her mouth There was a pie eating contest All of the pres that they ate had pepper in except one If they weren t eating the pies fast enough the sophomores would shove it in their faces Despite the pres and the sore noses everyone had a lot of fun 6 e v , 4 . 41 L-f , 'S s XX o ' sv a D r J I I I back saying Why don't you pick me up and smoke me sometime, v Q - '
