Students strive for accuracy and speed in Typing and Shorthand, for general knowledge of business and personal book- keeping and neatness in Bookkeep- ing, and to be aware of contracts and tort law in Business Law.

English helps students to com- municate better and to understand life. English 1-2 and 3-4' deal mainly with principles of grammar and sentence structure with devel- opment of skill at writing para- graphs and compositions. English 5-6 is composed of a detailed study of the short story, novels, and poetry with extensive study of compositions and theme writing. English 7-8 is mainly a study of English literature and the develop- ment of the English language. History classes help the students in understanding their world. It begins with the progress of man through the ages and envelopes a study of World geography, United States history, and Washington State history.
