WASHOUGAL 14'-STEVENSON 0 In the opening game of the 1966 season, the Panthers downed their first opponent, Stevenson, 14--O. The scoring came in the first and second quarters by Jeif Lightheart and Tim Woodman respectively. Both extra points were kicked by Don Piontek. WASHOUGAL 19-WHITE SALMON 14 The Panthers traveled to White Salmon to improve their record of 2 wins and no losses. The Panthers relied on a strong comeback after being down 7-0 and 14-6 to defeat the determined Bruins. Washou- gal's scoring came from Mike ,lendro's and Dennis Doyle's runs from within the 10, and J eff Lightheart's pass to Tim Woodman from 15 yards. Don Piontek hit 1 of 3 extra point kicks attempted.

Pmztloem Claw Their Way To '66 Trim Tztle WASHOUGAL 20-WOODLAND 0 In the Panthers' third league game of the 1966 season, they took another step on their way to the Trico League Champion- ship by downing Woodland 20-0. The first score of the game came in the second quarter as Mike .lendro crossed the goal line with the hall. Don Piontek's kick was good. The next two touchdowns came in the fourth quarter as Dennis Doyle and Charlie Lindgren each scored. Piontek missed one of the extra points, and Sam Autry crashed across the line for the other extra point, thus making the Panthers vic- tors with a 20-0 score. Coach Pettyjohn gave Sam Autry, Den- nis Doyle, and Mike .lendro special praise for fine offensive play. WASHOUGAL 25-RIDGEFIELD 0 The Panthers beat the Ridgefield Spud- ders 25-0 for their sixth straight win and fourth shutout. The only score of the first period came on a one yard run hy Jeif Lightheart. Den- nis Doyle ended the first half scoring on a 77 yard run. After a scoreless third quarter Sam Au- try broke loose for a 25 yard touchdown and Piontek's kick was good. Lightheart scored another one-yard run to end the scoring 25-0. WASHOUGAL 34eCAS'lTLE ROCK 20 The Panthers clinched the Trico title with a 34-20 victory over Castle Rock dur- ing the annual Homecoming game. Those scoring were Dennis Peake, 12 pointsg Jeff Lightheart, 12 pointsg Sam Autry, 6 points, and Don Piontek 4 P.A.T.'s. Autry breaks loose for good yardage against Woodland
