The Panther Matmen finished third in Trico with a league record of 5 wins, 2 losses, and 1 tie in their third year of competition. The team, under the direction of Coach Larry Rodriguez and leadership of co-captains, Chuck Barber and Leif Leifsen, displayed some line talent and showed great team spirit. Although the team placed third in Trico, special attention should be called to individual eiforts by two wrestlers. Scott MacDonald, a sophomore who wrestled at 103, finished the season with a 9 win and 1 loss record. The other was g'Big ,lim Begier who wres- tled at 191 lbs. He went to the district match and placed fourth, missing a chance to go to state by one position. Next year Coach Rodriguez will have some fine returning lettermen with good experience under their belts. Some of these are Dick Anderson, Chuck Barber, Roger Daniels, Pat MacDonald, Ron Madden, and Steve McClellan.
