Those who failed to obey attended Kangaroo Court. Once a month the girls of W. H. S. meet. Some- times a special program was presented as when Lan Le, foreign exchange student, spoke and showed slides about Viet Nam. In December the girls met to make favors and decorations for some of the hospitals and nursing homes in the area. Girls' League also helped support a child in Viet Nam. After scoring in the first half the Panthers were unable to score again. The next encounter for the Panthers was with Evergreen's Plainsmen. In this ball game th-evljanthers rolled up a 19 to 12 victory over the Plainsmen. A spirited White Salmon eleven gave the Panthers a real tussle in the Panthers first home ball game. A 40-yard run set up the only Panther score as the Panthers won 7 to O. On their next outing the Panthers took on the Woodland Beavers. In a well-played game the Panthers came out on top, 27 to 7. After winning four games straight, the Panthers seemed to lose something as they were defeated in their next four outings. Ridgefield handed Washougal its first defeat of the season when the Panthers met the Spudders on the Ridgefield gridiron. In this ballgame, fumbles and interceptions proved to be the downfall for the Panthers. The final score for this ball game was 19 to 13 in favor of the Spudders. Castle Rock's Rockets handed the Panthers their second defeat in a row as they scored 19 points and held the Panthers scoreless. Again the lack of ability to hang on to the ball proved to be the Panther 's downfall, An inspired Panther eleven traveled to Castle Rock with revenge in their eyes. At half time the score stood at 19 to O in favor of the Panthers. The second half was a different story, The Rockers capitalized on Panther mistakes to score 27 points and hold the Panthers scoreless. The final score was 27 to 19 in favor of the Rockets. In the last ball game of the season the Panthers took out their revenge on the Camas Papermakers, defeating them 20 to 6. In the first half the Panthers allowed the Papermakers only 4 yards from scrimmage. And, as you proudly gave your jeweled gift, We'll give our lesser offering with a smile, Nor falter on that path where, all too swift, You led the way and leapt the golden stile. Whether new paths, new heights to climb you find, Or gallop through the unfooted asphodel, We know you know we shall not lag behind, Nor halt to waste a moment on a fearg And you will speed us onward with a cheer, And wave beyond the stars that all is well. - -Maurice Ba ring Jim Begier, Linda Berry, Tere Bocchi, Carla Branson Travis Branson, Donnetta Brink, Patty Brumbaugh Wayne Burchett Richard Ad arns, Keith Anderson Alex Baggas, Lynn Barchus jzmivr 611155 Wrfrks Donna Carr, Esther Carroll, PCSSY Carroll, John Chappell Steve Chick, Janet Cox, Frank Crawford, Nancy Cummings Jirn Davis, Linda Davis, Jon DeGroote Karen De1Grosso .. .flllI'dfI7t7dI'I'l. ..
