LP' L Exzcurivs commrrrsz ERNEST FOOTE MIRIAM STEFFENSEN RICHARD SCIIWABPNI XXII CLASS QF 1946 At the beginning of the junior year the Class of '46 started ninety-one strong but as the year ad- vanced their numbers were decreased for various reasons with a great many boys leaving for the armed forces. Class officers were elected early in that year. Tom Thor was elected president and jim Peoples, vice-president. The secretary was Richard Hansen and the treasurer, Phyllis Pedersen. During the year the class presented its annual junior play, Slightly Deleriousu. Directed by Miss Davis, the play was a big success and it added a great deal of money to the class treasury to help in financing the Junior-Senior Banquet. . As a new system of intramural sports was introduced. there was no inrerclass competition for the boys that year. The year closed with the Junior-Senior Banquet a great success. Class members started the summer vacaition dreaming of next year when they would be the stars in the big ring in front of the reserved seat section. VVith the end of the war the future looked far brighter for graduating class members. President Lance Guynes, vice-president Jim Peoples, secretary Eileen johnson, and treasurer Helen Freitas were elected class officers. The class held its traditional Senior party at the Legion Hall. There were re- freshments and dancing afterward. Later Barbara Andersen was chosen May Queen for the first celebration of its kind at VV. U. H. S. since 1942.
