Under the direction of Mr. Williamson, the Washington Township High School Marching Band and the Dance Band has presented many pleasing performances. The band has performed at every football game during the season and has given its whole-hearted support at the pep meetings preced- ing the big games. The Spring Concert was pre- sented in order to earn money to buy well deserved iackets and blazers for the members. They have also sponsored two dances during the school year. During the Halloween season, the band participated in both the Apollo and Vandergrift Halloween parades. The Dance band, playing music of the modern type, has performed at the Senior Play, the Spring Concert, and the district Women's Club Flower Show. Singing in light secular three-part harmony, it is an extracurricular activity strictly for musical enjoyment. Specializing in seasonable repertoires, they have presented programs for Christmas, Easter, spring or whatever the occasion re- quires. Eighteen members sang with Pittsburgh Bicentennial Chorus, May 10, 1958 at the Syria Mosque. Four members represented our school at County Chorus.
