Brinker, Advisor Mr. Yarnel l'600L LMt0l 5 September 1950 . . . the organization of a yearbook staff . . . the dummy or outline of suggested styles of books . . . the selection of the theme . . . color choice for the cover . . . shall we have a group or individual dedication . . . can we earn enough money to publish a good yearbook??? . . . all these questions and many more confronted the editor and staff of THE 1951 WASHTONIAN before the yearbook had fully reached the blueprint development. Miss Janice Dickson was a very capable ond hard working editor-in-chief . . . supported by a fine group of special editors . . . mostly members of the class of 51 . . . Mr. Yarnel supplied the advice and instruction and many hours of work along with the staff. The assistant editors named this year are from the sophomore class . . . thereby acquiring the rank of editors in the junior year. It is the hope of the entire staff that this will aid the work of the year- book . . . eliminating the overload of senior activities. We hope you will enjoy and treasure THE 1951 WASHTONIAN . . . As Time Goes By.

Le Petit Cercle . . . or the little club . . . organized by French I and ll classes . . . formulated o Constitution . . . Miss Romoley, teacher . . . purpose is to furnish to all French students an opportunity to improve and increase their knowledge of French . . . in the bi-weekly meetings the students play games based on French words or phrases . . . learn to sing songs in French . . . and are given a chance to im- prove their oral expression by conversation and readings in French . . . the club has subscribed to the French Reader's Digest published in Canada and also to the Paris edition . . . for extra activities the club held o dance and assembly.
