Mustafa Saeed Ahmad receives the Dr. Lynn A. George Memorial Scholarship which is given to a graduate student in Veterinary Science who is studying a basic research problem. Jointly sponsored by the Seattle Veterinary Medical Association and the Vet- erinary Medical Association and the H. C. Burns Company, the Small Animal Medicine Award was awarded to Wally Hauck for his proficiency in this category. l Duane Mickelsen, recipient of the Large Animal Medicine Award which is given by the Yakima Valley Veterinary Medical Association and the Charles Pfizer Company. The Washington Horsebreeders Scholarship, based on scholarship and an active interest in horses was awarded to junior student, Steve Krakowa, The Small Animal Surgery Award, given by the Inland Empire Veterinary Medical Association was presented to Arthur Hoffman.

Dr. Orin Swanson, president of the State Association made the presentations. . 'rw A. A Lance Perryrnan receives the Borden Award The AVMA Auxiliary Award given to the student who has contributed the most to the prestige of the College of Veterinary Medicine on the Uni- versity carnpus, shared this year by Bob Sch- ladetzky and John Mcllhattan. for achieving the highest scholastic average during the first three years of professional training. Eugene Kennel Club scholarship was shared by Norm Shatto and Richard Stroud Qnot picturedj. 96 The Upjolm Award presented to a junior student showing proficiency in clinical subjects was received by Steve Skinner and Robert Slack. Norm Shatto and Ron Hallstrom received the Merck, Sharpe and Dohme Prizes which are awarded to the two sophomore students with the highest grade point average for the first two years of the professional curriculum, fHallstrom not picturedj The Large Animal Surgery Award was presented to Don Hanks and is sponsored by the Southwest Washington and South Puget Sound Veterinary Medical Association. The three recipients of the Dr. Reuben Button Memorial Scholarship were Jim McGill, Robert Fenimore and Bill Miner.
