GREEKS Fraternalism, involvement and pride. These are what! make the Greek system a success. Excitement and fun are always easy to find as the Greek calender is con¬ stantly filled with events, and yet a trusting ear and time for a quiet talk with a friend can always be found. The Greek system is intricately webbed and each per¬ son has a special way to become involved — it ' s working together, growing together, and building a pride that will follow a lifetime. 22 Dawnings

Apartment Living Having It Off-campus, apartment living, your own place — whatever you want to call it. many have chosen this type of dwell¬ ing. To them it is a convenience- independence, home-cooked meals, no-set-study schedule, a sense of free¬ dom. It is a way of life that revolves around the individual, a free to be me style of living. For all of its good points, off campus living is not all pleasure. Many must walk, jog, or hitch it to campus, under the unpredictable skies of Pullman. Other problems: roommates, cleaning up the place, and shopping for food. Great Moments in Apartment Living. Clockwise from Upper Left: The long trek home in the rain; A chance to relax before cleaning the room or cooking or some¬ thing; The monthly ritual of buying potato chips and ham¬ burger. Dawnings 21

DORMS The opposite of Greek life? Not by a long shot. Dorm exchanges, floor meetings, food lines, Christmas dinners, screw-your- roommate parties — the Dormies are kept busy too. Countless rows of uniform cubicles tower on the east side of campus, and yet for those who live there, a sense of individuality and freedom grows in those rooms, the names of the different dorms are proudly worn across the chests of the inhabitants, and a closeness and love that grows be¬ tween those who meet there will never be forgotten.
