Dirstine . . . a man who is kind and friendly . . . a man who has the traits of inspirational leadership . . . a man who has been invalu- able to The State College of Washington . . . it is with the utmost respect that we dedicate the 1952 Chinook. Arriving at Washington State college in 1912, Dean Dirstine joined the staff as instructor in Veteri- nary medicine, and in 1917 he was elevated to a full professorship and became head of pharmacy. ln 1923 when the pharmacy department became a cschoolf Dr. Dirstine Was appointed dean and has served con- tinuously under thai title for twenty-eight years. His pharmacy gradu- ates have made exceptional records, for what has probably set a national record, in taking state board examinations. Dean P. H. Dirstine last June completed four decades of service to Washington State college. To him in thanks we say, uBest Wishes for the futuref' .
