George Gannon, Secretary E. S. LlNDLEY, President President Roosevelt in giving this country a New Deal has recognized edu¬ cated men and women. The results which are just beginning to be unfolded, indicate a new social order insuring all our people a fuller life. Economic inde¬ pendence for the masses is now nearer a reality than it has been since the found¬ ing of this country. These facts are known to the thousands of alumni who have grappled and won in the battle of adversity in the past few years. Graduates of the class of 1934 are to be congratulated upon beginning life at the start of this new social order. They can, and will be called upon to carry a heavy load! I predict they will do so successfully, reflecting glory to themselves, their families, communities, and the State College of Washington. E. S. LlNDLEY, President. Commencement exercises . — 27 —
