ini' maui lens ' May Night was an innovation at the Seminary, for it com- bined the thrill of Class Night with the breathtaking beauty of former May Day pageants. Although it grew out of grim necessity, the need to use old costumes because of war time shortages, costumes that somehow looked less frayed under the glamor of lights, the success was so spec- tacular that the very idea of ever returning to a daytime production has been cast aside. Once more Miss Ligon pull- ed a rabbit out of the hat, and with her usual artistry gave the Seminary and Atlanta a beautiful show. KIEN NIL Doi : Sally, Mary Louise, Emily-somebody, please tell me about the Round Table. l'm utterly confused. W'hat are you anyway, feminine counterparts of King Arthur's knights? ALL or TIIL GIRLS AT ONCE: Miss Doe, do you mean to say- MARY' LOUISE: You tell her, Sally. SALLY HAI L: Really, Miss Doe, you're not far from wrong when you think of the King Arthur Round Table. You see our Round Table stands for high achievement, too, and we're very proud to be the 1944 members. .ll-NNIIL Dorf Achievement in what? SALLY: In scholarship and fidelity. We have to maintain an average of 90 in both in order to be members. That means that for a period of Eve reports we have made not more than Eve B's. The rest of our grades have been A or A+. -II NNII DOI: No wonder you're proud. SAILY: And without exception, the girls have all been engaged in dozen of other school activities-publications, dramatics, athletics, Red Cross, and all the other clubs like French and Spanish and Science. That's why we're a Round Table. The girls are versa- xfle in their achievements. WII NNIL DOE: Let me congratulate you. lt would seem that you have won the school's highest scholastic honor. Almost like Phi Beta Kappa in college. SALLY: I don't suppose we'll ever wear that coveted key, but it's -oznething to think about. QIIQNNIIZ DOE: Indeed it is. Keep up the good work and you'll probably make it. And now to other honors. My notebook is bulging and there are only a few pages left. l've saved them for your Superlatives. Some of you I'll be seeing on that score too. Good-bye for now. ALL 'ITIL GIRLS! 'Bye, Miss Doe. Hurry back.
