TONIS MANG, 6 ft. 4 inch iunior, is outstanding in almost every sport in which he competes. As a sophomore he won the right to toss the discus in the State Track Meet, and he placed second in that event in Big-8 competition, His performance with the discus is the result of sound instruction, careful conditioning, extensive drill, natural capability, and intense desire. Tonis has also won his letters in football and basketball. Originally from Estonia, Tonis moved with his family to the U.S, from Germany in l95O. DENNIS KOMMER, although incapacltated with a leg iniury as a sophomore, was recognized as a corner by his coaches, This year, with instruction such as that given by Coach Donald Gard' ner in baslcetball, h's talents are be ng fully developed, Top per- formances in several sports are anticipated from him in his senior year. 15

Besides two years of Ger- man, he is taking two years of French in one year and also is study- ing Russian at Vocational School, Because of his high German average, Dick was a good substitute to take over a first year German class when Miss Werneclce was taken ill in rnid- year. He prepared the class for exams and developed tests for thern to take. 16
