DECEMBER: War Comes 3 -With National Defense uppermost in our minds, stamps are placed on sale in the study halls. Doing their part in buying defense stamps are Wallace Small, Dorothy K. Brown, Don Lam- bert, and Lorraine Steuer. The seller-Miss Sorenson! 4-Put 'everything else aside! After school the faculty team plays the B squad. Pictured above is the Faculty Flash, Mr. Gach, lying down on the job. We lose-they win. A meeting of the projector club is held. These boys operate the projector whenever their serv- ices are needed: Bill Gittings, president: Bill lerstad, Albert Hognsvoog, George Schulz, Nor- man Friedman, Mr. Berven, adviser: and Glenn Lockwood. 5-Wichaka has its annual Donut Drag, with Dick Pease and Gloria Chesnut as Duke and Duch- ess. Nancy George crowns the Duke. Hoopsters journey to Madison and whip East 33-12. Orwiq nets 15 points. 7--Iapan declares war on the United States. 8-School radios become popular as students and teachers listen intently to the historic speeches in Congress before the formal declaration of war is made.
