OCTOBER: Our Mudders Perform -Tri Alpha inducts members at candlelight service. -President Bob Morgan confers about approach- ing Student Council dance and assembly with cabinet members: M. Gilday, D. Lambert, D. Nel- son, H. Quimby, P. Lange, and M. Bandouveris. -Over a wet course, Wyman and Snyder lead the cross country team to a 30-45 win over Cudahy. At a Council-sponsored after school pep meet- ing, Miss Teuscher acts as chief spokesman. Result: Park maintains its conference lead by outplaying Ianesville here 13-O on a soggy field. -Playing in the mud continues at Kenosha. Our B and our Iunior squads win 21-13 and 14-0. -Fire prevention week: Two drills, more promised. Gloria Chesnut welcomes new members to Wichaka at an after school formal initiation ceremony. Activities continue at the evening Hick-Iig , a fem dance with older girls acting as escorts. -Iean Iohnson and Steve Polcin model the first finds in the hunt for Our Town costumes. .in-. Page 18

South Mi1waukee's state champions defeat Park cross country runners 21-35, but it's a contest. Twelve Beacon staff workers attend the state high school journalism conference at Madison. At West Milwaukee the B gridders contine to win, 20-6: but the Iuniors lose, 6-0. West administers Park a crushing 21-12 defeat at Madison. Their air game is effective. A pass to Csipkes scores, and Larson carries a blocked kick 25 yards for a second touchdown.
