School or Convention 10-An assembly at last. We welcome the sophs cmd thoroughly enjoy Mr. Walter's dissertation on, Park, Paradise or Prison? Senior Wichaka conducts our sophomore girls on a tour of the school and reveals the bitter truth: No elevator, no secret stairs at Park. ll-Who started the talk about the younger gen- eration going soft? These girl hockey players look friendly enough as they approach the bully, but how they fight for possession of the ball. 12-The Beacon staff conducts an all school survey which shows surprising results, since pub- lished in numerous feature stories. 15-Politics, negro spirituals, and cheers in the air: Roll calls elect Student Council members: Iub- ilee Quintet performs in afternoon: cheer lead- ers direct season's first organized cheers. 16-Schools compete with National American Legion convention parade. Only half of stu- dent body is induced to go to Milwaukee. All in all soccer is a kicking good game, but for those who tire the Pool looks inviting. 17-Robert Eisenhauer entertains the French club. Mr. Rowe conduct tryouts for the all school play, Thornton Wilder's Our Town. 18-The riding club still functions.
