English All Washington-Lee students had one thing in common - an English course, but the type of course was not necessarily the same. The elective system in English was changed slightly this year, with those choosing this option covering vocabulary, composition, and grammar during the first semester, followed by two quarters of elective study. Along with this elective system and a traditional full-year English course, there were courses for the advanced English student starting with Enriched English in lOth grade, and Advanced Placement English courses in l lth and l2th grades. Students still had two more options. Some juniors preferred American Civilization, a combination of English and history, while many seniors chose to study the fine and literary arts through the ages by participating in the Art-English-Music seminar. xi Il fi, r J' 1 , V ' ' ffliihiini zz 'ig , r, 'yvlbnplbxs ,W . .. ?
