Richmond l'rini'ipul To tba Class of 1943: You are graduating into a turbulent world, but I know by the admirable manner in which you have conducted yourselves here that you have the courage to face it, the determination to see it through and the wisdom to contribute to the prevention of its recurrence. ' In the face of great distraction on the home front you have devoted yourselves faithfully to the all-important job of carrying on. I know your performance on Whatever other front in which you may become active will be equally creditable. Many of you will soon be bearing arms for your country. Some of the more im- patient, indeed, have already gone ahead. Ihope Wfashington-Lee has contributed, not only to your technique in waging war, but also to the happy, constructive life that lies beyond the chaotic but, fortunately, brief period in which we now find ourselves.
