FOREIDORD HE Class of 1933 has compiled this volume of the Blue and Gray with the purpose of set- ting forth, in a tangible form, a record of our Alma Mater, Washington-Lee and the activities in which we have participated during the past year. The staff takes this opportunity to extend its heartfelt thanks to the Mesdames Ransom, Har- baugh, Turner, and Mr. Christie, without whose guidance this publication could never have come into being. This year has been an extremely difficult one, financially, for many of us-therefore we offer our most sincere token of appreciation to all of you-- students, parents. and patrons: who by your kind co-operation have made possible this edition of the Blue and Gray. Service is the watchword of our class: and if within this volume you find lasting pleasure in re- calling these, the happiest days of your life-then our noble attempt to serve you has not been in vain.

McNeill, in appreciation of work so faithfully accomplished, developing and maintaining the Cadet Corps of this school: and in creating a reputation for this body as an efficiently managed and well drilled organization: both among the stu- dent body and patrons of the school.
