Eighth Grade Football Team The eighth grade football team had a very successful season winning four of their five games by shut-louts They defeated Bedford 21-O, Clay 8-0, Perrysburg 8-0, and Ottawa Hills 54-0. Their only defeat was the second game with Clay. The score was Clay 12 W.J.H. 0. The outstanding for the Rebels were Don Hughes, Harold LaFountain, and Ed Goldsmith. Eighth Grade Basketball Team There are several eighth grade basketball teams at W.J.H. one of which 15 called the Eighth Grade Var sity. It is composed of fifteen boys who play a twelve game schedule against other eighth grade teams in the locality. Teaching of the basic fundamentals of basketball along with game experience 15 the basis for the eighth grade team program. The Rebels built up a ten game winning streak before dropping a game. They ended the season with 11 wins and 1 loss. They also can boast not losing a game to any team that is presently in the Great Lakes League which would make the league champions on the eighth grade level.
