IN MEMORIAM p f J DR. STEPHEN A. DONATI-I The Washington Township School System suf- fereda deep loss last November 8, 1955, when Dr. Stephen A. Donath failed to respond from a heart operation and died. Dr. Donath had beenamember of the school board for approxi- mately twenty years. During that time he served as chairman of the board for two terms. He was a forward-looking man as far as school affairs and also community advance- mentwas concerned. Our Junior High feels that it has lost a genuinely true friend and loyal supporter. Out of respect to Dr. Donath our school was closed the afternoon of his funeral. 4

DEDICATION This year the Yearbook Staff of 1956 would like to dedicate the Surveyor to our new principal, Mr. Robert E. Ben- der. Mr. Bender's background speaks for itself as does the remarkable job he has done in his first year at Washing- ton Junior High School. We are very proud to have the privilege of dedi- cating the 1956 Surveyor to our friendly and cooperative principal, Mr. Bender. 3
