Future students will question as you have questioned, grow as you have grown, change as you have changed. They will be better because you were here, for each genera- tion of students leaves its mark. I hope that you will fondly recall what the College has tried to do for you and understand how the College has contributed to your development. I wish to thank you for sharing this part of your life with us. Congratulations also to those responsible for this chronicle of your experiences at the College. May your future reference to the Pandora 77 bring you memories of friends, events, and teachers. May it also serve as a link to your classmates as well as to the College. My very best wishes for a healthy, personally satisfying, and pros- perous future. X David K. They are members of nu- : ' ' merous honoraries, have leaders in Student Government and Student Court, as well as the Red and Black. In addition, six ATO's have been elected to Who's Who among American College Students. Athletically, ATO's have outstanding performers in all major varsity sports, recently having three all PAC winners. ATO also particapates in every aspect of the intramural program. One of the top chapters in the country, the Brothers of Alpha Pi are particularly active in community social projects ranging from participation in an emergency disaster drill to sponsoring a Christmas party for under- priveleged children. This diversity provides a great variety of its-f - ideas, thoughts, and creativity which can be used to make Gamma Chapter a well-rounded and more active chapter of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. The Delts, even though diversified, possess strong unity and cohesiveness in everything they do because of a common sense of responsibility and pride in their fraternity. The brothers of Gamma Chapter have been rec- ognized as one of the top ten chapters of Delts Tau Delta for the past three years. In keeping this tradition, Gamma Chapter is always active in intramural sports and in conducting annual fund drives for Muscular Distrophy. The Delts also sponsor the Little Delt base- ball team, which has been Washington's Little League Champs for the last three consecutive years. Above all, Gamma Chapter stresses the importance of academic studies and has consistently been, academically, one of the leading fraternities on campus. The Delts hope to continue these efforts in academics, as well as in sports, social events, and other campus activies for many years to come. mv .rf ,RQ ,um f 'F 'gl A 'iw , We Q 'amv.a:e11:2axurm1 H - 3 L? ll ,- Qin I ,R k V g- 5 ,V LL., -, - '-ua-ra.-...4 ,U - :tg .. Despite the wide range of individuality, they have demonstrated time again the high order of brotherhood and compatibility which typifies a Kappa Sig. The brothers of the Beta Delta Chapter take great pride in it's unheralded tradition which has been passed on for over one hundred years by their renowned alumni. These men have attained the highest degree of excellence in various fields of study and areas of endeavor. These academic achievements have placed Kappa Sigma's overall average among the highest on campus. The Squigglies are very active in many of the College's extra-curricular activities which include ROTC, Stu- dent Government, Ski Club, and practically all Varsity athletics. The Kappa Sigs have been competitive in all the intramural sports, and have proven their worth by continually placing teams in the playoffs in most sports. With the aid of a very fine pledge class, Kappa Sig hopes to play an intricate role in the policies and ac- tivities of the College in the future, while maintaining a small part of the past. As in the past, Lambda Chi Alpha is known largely for their athletic activity, both on the varsity and intramural level. Currently, the Lunchers boast the MVP's of Varsity Football, Cross-Country, Baseball, and Golf. Also, while many brothers compete on the varsity level with only recognition from the college com- munity, four Lambda Chis were fortunate enough to be named to the All-Conference Team in their respective sports and one was honored as an All-American in football. Intramurally, the Lambda Chis currently are holders of five crowns, with prospects looking very bright for future conquests. But, let it be said here that the Lambda Chis are much more than a Jock House . The majority of brothers partake, not only in the house-related activities, but also in many campus group activities. Academically, the Lunchers are on the upswing, carrying a very respectable house average, one brother earning selection as a Phi Beta Kappa, and several brothers consistently making Dean's lists. Finally, the Chis has been commended recently for the community work, most notably their participation in Washington's Dark in the Park program held over Halloween. Since their k 'beginning at the Log Cabin Canonsburg, :mr- ' the Phi Gamm's many faceted contributions to the College are innumerable. The Fijis have long established themselves as social leaders, scholars, and ' worldly gentlemen in their one hundred and twenty- nine years of existance. Although losing twelve senior brothers last year, the fraternity managed to almost totally replace the lost talents, personalities and friend- ships through an outstanding pledge class. Even though the Chapter House is seperate from the other fraternity houses on campus, the Fiji's social life still prospers. On many a Party Weekend, one can find a good time at Fiji, whether singing, dancing, or L 9 doing the Gator . Justly proud of her achievements in the past and with an eager eye to the future, Phi '51-Q ' . 1 Gamma Delta will continue to strive to maintain its Y ' p 4 tight bond of fellowship and brotherhood. It is these . ' that make one proud to be a Phi Gamma not for col- ' lege days, but forever. 'Wf- -rf' T- .1-7.5. , - ,. A--..., r Lys! . , ' L J if A , . , .La 127 PHI KAPPA P I Row 1: J. Lauff, M. I' 'AP' ' ' 4 Times have changed, the location of our fra- f M ' ternity house has changed and even the faces have changed I -il ' 5 in the house. Yet through it all the spirit of Phi Kappa ' Psi has endured and flourished. Her message of service and involvement to the College commuity has never been more evident. The brothers are to be found in every aspect of life at W 8: J. Not only do they annually have the most Varsity participants but also the Phi Psi gambit also runs from Student Government to Who's Who and includes numerous other organizations and societies. It has been stated that quality and quantity are inversely proportional. At Phi Psi no attention has been paid to this axiom as the Brothers annually strive to select the most outstanding pledge class to augment their already large numbers. We at Phi Psi believe in the total man concept as is clearly evident in those famous Phi Psi parties, dedication to academics excellence, athletic competition and invovement in extracurricular activities. This com- bination allows Phi Kappa Psi to justly claim to be an integral part of life at W 8: J. i 3.1 I 1 ' ki Y J In n N V' , .H . Q-x M1 N -2 if ITT. A L 2- 11. - .-3 . ' uring the course of the past few years, the Brothers of Phi Kappa Sigma have made a U 5 conscious effort to create an environment of diversity and individuality in fraternity life. While we realize success in this endeavor can at times mean periods of unrest and seeming internal conflict, we also realize the important value such an environment carries with it not only to the Skull Brother- hood, but to the college community as well. For it is only through an atmosphere of extended interaction and understanding that we can raise ourselves above the anesthetized J-world of senseless stereotypes and petty reference points based on Greek letters. This year, the brothers of Pi Lambda Phi have entered into the college party scene with a vengeanceg holding such vital social functions as the Goodbye Gary Gilmore Ball, the Pre-Freshman Mixer, and the Spider Sabich Gala in honor of Claudine Longet, who was gracious enough to do a little fancy pistol shooting for the guests. Following in the footsteps of other frets , Pi Lambda Phi sponsors a myriad of com- munity services such as the Little League Team, and a social rehabilitation center, DeQuincey House, whose director, Dr. Hunter S. Thompson, fa noted Doctor of Journalisml, proclaims his message of Inner peace through L.L. Bean. Pi Lamb's new popularity is evidenced by the size of it's pledge class. The pledge, and all the brothers join together in extending to all the students and faculty their good wishes, in the spirit of a firm handshake, and contemporary footwear. This year's riflemen, led by , Kris Ellis showed marked improvement throughout the season. The rest of Sgt. Carpenter's squad included Tim Schieffelin, Blake McCand1ess, Bob Lutka, Scott Munson, Leslie Cowison, Kathie Bonarrigo, Rich Adams and Debbie Solomon. With the season running from September to March, it is by far the longest period for any varsity sport. Although Seniors McCand1ess and Schieffelin will be missed, there is strong hope that with both the aquistion of some new equipment and the talents of our underclassmen already demonstrated this past season, that next season will prove victorious.
