Communigl The students of WHS participate in programs helping to serve the community in many ways. A few of these services are collections for polio, tuberculosis, and heart disease, and such varying activities as the provision of entertainment by the Music Department and the assistance of the farmer by the Agriculture Department. The students con- tribute much of their time and effort to make XWHS of service to the community. V 2 fl In 1949, the High School Varieties program was started at Station WFML. Here the defending Sophomore team in Current Events, Richard Cline, Harry Ross, and Charles Rose, meets the chal- lenging juniors, jerry Barton, Max Summers, and Mary Glezen. The Girls Ensemble provides entertainment for the dedication ceremonies of the North Side School. Those participating are Mrs. Alvin Seal, Connie Weddle, Velma Chestnut, Marilyn Shafer, Judy Thompson, Marilyn Seal, Linda Wfedeking, Jo Davis, Gretchen Chickedantz, and Deanna Dye. , J.: MX. I 11
