Lef's pause a brief momenf and review fhose four excifing years. l95O-5l When we enfered WHS we were exacfly as fhe saying goes, green freshiesf' Marilynn Hill and Sfeve Beclcman were our fypical Hfypical freshmen. Sharon Johnson was chosen as Hi'Y Queen candidafe and again Marilynn Hill represenfed us, fhis fime as candidafe for Sweefhearf Queen. The Y-Teens chose Hal Ericlcson as our Spinsfer candidafe. I95l-52 Wifh a full year behind us we were finally acguainfed wifh fhis big insfifufion called Washingfon High. As big, bold sophomores we were proud fo claim Helen Eggers and Bud Qlson as Represenfafives of our class. Preffy Kay Qffen vied for Hi-Y Queen, and Marieffa Hansen was apfly chosen our Sweefhearf candidafe. Don Renner received fhe honor of being Spinsfer candidafe. l952-53 Wifh our iunior year, we were now firmly esfablished and could confidenfly call ourselves upper- classmenf' Dick Ronlcen, Wayne Gusfafson, Lois Rossow, and Sandy Sona headed our class as Presidenf, Vice- Presidenf, Secrefary. and Treasurer respecfively. They planned a fun-filled iunior parfy and guided us fhrough fhe year. We were fruly proud of fhem. The '53 Hi-Y Carnival broughf anofher honor fo Sandy Sona, as she was selecfed as Queen candidafe. Dramafics Club officers chose Helen Eggers as Junior Sweefhearf aspiranf and Les Larson was crowned Chief Sorcerer af fhe gala Spinsfer Dance. l953'54 This dafe marlcs our biggesf and besf year: one we will all remember for years fo come. Qur many senior acfivifies were well-planned by Paul Rogness, Presidenf: Kenf Morsfad, Vice-Presidenf: Lois Rossow, Secre- fary, and Diane Sfoalces, Treasurer, along wifh fhe Social Commiffee headed by Bill Zabel. OLD was fhe besf ever, as fhe Sfudenf Body chose Sandy Sona and Wayne Gusfafson as our Queen and Marshal. Qfher members of our super Royalfy were Helen Eggers, Lois Rossow, Bonnie Assam, Rosie Hunfer, Paul Rogness. Warren Ged- sfad, Bill Zabel, and Paf Smifh. Vivacious Connie Hammiff was piclred as Hi-Y Queen, and radianf Sonya Qyan reigned af fhe beaufiful Sweefhearf Dance. We seniors are, of course, especially proud of our superior class - buf we realize fully fhaf fhese four wonderful years couldn'f have been fhe same wifhouf fhe excepfional help we've received from counfless ofhers in WHS. To Mr. Kohoufelc, fo each and every one of our senior advisers, and fo fhe enfire adminisfrafion and faculfy we offer a big Thanks for all fhe guidance we have received from you: may we, in fhe fufure, malce ourselves fhe lcind of men and women you would be proud fo recall. ln closing. we '54 seniors would lilce fo wish fhis year's iunior class as much success and enioymenf in fheir coming big year as we have enioyed in ours. 21
