George Norman Vice President State F, F, A, Chapter Representative to Boys' State Mrs. John C, Burdette, center, and Joyce Bennett, right, representatives of the Wash- ington fGa.J High School, accept on behalf of their school, a Freedoms Foundation honor medal from Dr. Kenneth D. Wells, president of the foundation. Presentation of the award was the first event in a three -day Freedom Pilgrimage in which Mrs. Burdette and Joyce joined teachers and students from 60 other schools throughout the nation to visit American historical shrines. Their school won the privilege of being represented on the pilgri- mage by being selected as one of the 60 schools in the nation to receive the Principal Award from the Freedoms Foundation, 5, 5 Claudell Gresham Vivian Ficklen 'Eva Griffin 10th District Essay Winner Girls' State Representatives Placed 4th in State Martha Jackson State Tennis Champion irls' Singles

Project of Lawrence Burton and Marion Cheney. Electrophoresis and Its Importance ln Disease Diagnosis First prize at the regional fairg and. first prize at the state fair went to Lawrence and Marion for their superior work in a relatively new field of ex- perimental research. SCIENCE FAIRS Project of Randall Pettus and George Dyson, A Smoke Tunnel Illustration of Bernou11i's Principle Boys captured sweepstake award at University of Georgia Regional Science Fair. Honorable mention at the State Science Fair, Oglethorpe University, Atlanta, Georgia Project of Patricia Rogers and Jean Long. A Study of Rocks and Their Use ln Jewelry Making The girls' beautiful exhibit won many commendation comments but no prizes at the regional fair. At the state fair the judges were more definitely im- pressed and the project was awarded second prize.
