Knowing Where to Tapi. . . Recently, in the plant of a Rochester manu- facturer, an intricate machine brolce down in the middle of rush production of a big order. Local mechanics could not find the trouble. A hurry call was dispatched to New Vorlc for an expert. The expert came, loolced the machine over, and said, Let me have a hammer, please. He polced the hammer carefully past a maze of gears, and tapped gently, three times. With- drawing the hammer, he said, Try it. It worked. The machine began to run.
