Besides providing music for our assembly programs and playing in concert, part ol the interesting vvorlc of the band is its marching activities. When spring rolls around the band will be out doing marching practice under the command of a competent Drum Major in preparation lor the Memorial Day parade and next fall's football schedule. 60

Our new director hopes to double the membership within the next few years. About twenty new in- struments have been given out this term. The music for assembly programs, and school plays as well as special programs has shown spirited playing. 61
